Location: Rancocas Cranberry Preserve, Pemberton NJ 08088

Please join Pinelands Alliance’s Nature Accessible for All and avid bird enthusiast Claire Campbell on this outdoor adventure while we will look for interesting birds that are residents or just passing through the area.

The Big Sit is like a Bird-a-thon. Individuals or teams find as many species as possible in 24 hours. There is one critical difference – all observations must be made from within a circle no more than 17 feet (5.2 meters) in diameter.

These programs are designed for individuals with mobility concerns in mind.

Cost is $10 per explorer. We have wheelchairs available for use! All are welcome.

Pre-registration is required.

We LOVE to see people adventure during early spring. It is so cool to see the pines before everything blooms. Then, when things do bloom, it is an excuse to get back on the water to see how the seasons change the landscape. (You never need an excuse to get on a kayak, though).

Join a Pinelands Adventures naturalist for a guided hike (max 2 miles) that invites you to experience the forest and wetlands from an entirely new perspective.

When daylight fades, the Pine Barrens transforms—beavers slap their tails across dark water, nocturnal creatures begin to stir, and the familiar world feels wonderfully different. Every Night Hike is a little bit unique, shaped by the season, the weather, and whatever wildlife chooses to reveal itself that evening.

-Native to New Jersey Pinelands
-has a red flower that blooms May-June
- Is a carnivorous plant receives nutrients from captured insects and other invertebrates
-It does still photosynthesize
