Take our guided evening hike to get a different perspective of the forest under the light of the moon.
Do you live for the nightlife?! So do the whippoorwills, frogs, and owls of the NJ pine barrens, along with many others! Get a different perspective of the forest under the light of the moon. Learn about what happens after dark as the creatures that rule the night begin to emerge as others settle into sleep.
Locations will vary with the seasons. You will receive an email a few days before your trip with information specific to your adventure. The night hikes will meet at different locations throughout the Pine Barrens depending on the time of year.
May 16th and June 3rd will be Frog Walks with our staff scientist, Dr. Carlos Martínez Rivera. He is an expert in reptiles and amphibians, and Carlos will help us find all the nooks and crannies where these creatures hide.
Bring water, a flashlight or headlamp, bug spray, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. On Frog Walks, waders or waterproof rain boots are recommended for a full experience!
