Date: October 19th, 2024 at 5:45 pm
Location: Rancocas Cranberry Farm (see details below)
For centuries, humans have been telling of myths, legends, and supernatural oddities. Join Pinelands Preservation Alliance (PPA) and New Jersey Conservation Foundation (NJCF) staff for an evening of fun, and storytelling around the campfire. The Pine Barrens have long been a place where legends, tales, and mythical creatures are born. Listen to our storyteller Russell Juleg, Senior Land Steward with NJCF as he delves into myths and legends that have been passed down for generations and discuss the true historical figures who feature in them.
During this program, we will walk a total of a 1-mile to and from the storytelling circle. The site offers a picturesque view of a Pinelands reservoir as the backdrop. This program will immerse you in the stories, sights, sounds, and smells of the Pinelands region on this easy-going walk and storytelling journey. You’ll be invited to unplug, tune in, and enjoy an evening of oddities, fright, and laughter.
This inclusive and accessible family-friendly outing follows along wide, stable, and level trail systems. The area is a location perfect for wildlife and native plant observation and most importantly – getting fully immersed in the stories and legends of the Pines. The program will run for about two hours.
