Cranberry Farm Tour – Explore a Working Pine Barrens Cranberry Operation
Ride with Pinelands Adventures into cranberry country and step inside a working Pine Barrens harvest!
Join us for a rare behind‑the‑scenes adventure as Theodore H. Budd & Sons Cranberry Farm invites us back to experience life on an active Pine Barrens cranberry farm.
New Jersey remains one of the nation’s leading cranberry‑producing states, thanks to the Pine Barrens’ naturally acidic soils and abundant clean water—conditions that make this region ideal for growing cranberries. On this tour, you’ll meet the farmers who keep this long‑standing tradition alive and watch them harvest bright red berries directly from the bog. You’ll learn how and when the bogs are flooded, see the specialized equipment used in wet harvesting, and gain a firsthand understanding of how this uniquely Pine Barrens crop is cultivated.
Your adventure begins at the Pinelands Preservation Alliance / Bishop Farmstead in Southampton, where guests will meet, park, and board a Pinelands Adventures bus for transport to the farm. For the privacy and safety of our partnering growers, guests may not drive themselves or follow the bus to the farm, and we ask that all visitors respect this important rule.
This tour includes light walking and standing—up to 200–300 yards on uneven ground—and is recommended for ages 10 and older. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tour, as the bus must leave Bishop Farmstead at the exact tour time and cannot wait for late arrivals. All tours are weather‑dependent and may be adjusted according to harvest conditions.

Come discover the Pine Barrens’ vibrant cranberry heritage, meet the people who carry it forward, and experience the sights, sounds, and colors of a working fall harvest.
The meeting place is the Gift Shop at Pinelands Preservation Alliance’s HQ at Bishop Farmstead. Directions available here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/jXW6xxF6iRQoSLJA6
