Adventures is seeking a customer-service-focused Guest Services Representative to provide vital support to our management team. This role is designed to alleviate pressure during our busy season by managing high volumes of communication and administrative tasks, ensuring management can focus on field operations and critical issues. The ideal candidate is an empathetic team player who can competently cover the front desk, retail sales, work independently when needed, and potentially take on more complex administrative reporting tasks over time.

Salary Range: Starting at $22 per hr

Job Type: Full to Part-Time, Seasonal (Note: We are closed during the winter months for river trips; the season runs April to end of October; Significant summer weekend/holiday requirement. Our busiest months are June, July, August)

Adventurer Assistant/Outdoor Helper – Seasonal Part Time

$15.50 per hour

Seasonal: May through October. Weekends and/or weekdays. Less than 35 hrs.

Pinelands Adventures is the premier canoe and kayak rental and livery service on the Batsto and Mullica Rivers.

As a Pinelands Adventures Outdoor Helper/Adventurer Assistant, you will assist with canoe and kayak operations, maintenance, cleaning, and our educational programs. This is a great opportunity to learn paddling skills while exploring the local Pine Barrens ecology. You will unload/reload canoes/kayaks, gear, and guests for their trip down the river. Experienced staff will oversee and train on proper techniques and safety requirements.

The following qualifications are required:

  • Respect, knowledge, and appreciation of New Jersey’s Pine Barrens
  • A positive attitude and adventurous spirit
  • A big smile. No exceptions!
  • The ability to load and unload boats, which weigh up to 80 pounds, onto and off of trailers, with some assistance
  • The ability and willingness to work outdoors in hot, cold, or wet conditions at times
  • Utilize web-based time keeping system to clock in, clock out, and log breaks
  • Consistent weekend availability. Commitment mandatory during busy season (June through August)

Examples of tasks you may be responsible for:

  • Assisting Drivers/Staff with equipment loading and loading from trailers.
  • Sorting and organizing equipment
  • Cleaning equipment with the use of various items such as: hose, brush, brooms, vacuum, towels, fogger.
  • Basic landscaping duties: trimming, cutting, clearing, raking, pulling weeds with hand tools.
  • Policing of trash and recycling cans and disposing of items in proper locations.
  • Firewood stacking or creating firewood bundles for sale.
  • Launching and landing area maintenance or assistance.
  • Washing, cleaning, sweeping, and sanitizing vehicles.
  • Checking supplies and stocking common items. Inventory counts.
  • Organizing and cleaning maintenance garage, paddle shed, and boat storage yard.
  • Assisting with guest organization for efficient arrivals and departures.
  • Learning river/plant/wildlife ecology and kayak/canoe paddling skills.

Driver, Guide, Outdoor Adventurer – Seasonal Full or Part Time
$18 per hour for CDL training, with an increase when the license is obtained.

Seasonal: April through October. Weekends and/or Weekdays.

Pinelands Adventures is the premier canoe and kayak rental and livery service on the Batsto and Mullica Rivers.

As a Pinelands Adventures employee, you will drive a 16 passenger bus with canoe/kayak trailer to and from designated launch/landing sites, sharing you passion for the Pine Barrens along the way. You will unload/reload canoes, kayaks, gear, and guests for their trip down the river.

The following qualifications are required:

  • Respect, knowledge, and appreciation of New Jersey’s Pine Barrens
  • A positive attitude and adventurous spirit
  • A valid driver’s license without any points or moving violations for at least 3 years
  • Experience driving a vehicle with a trailer
  • The ability to load and unload boats, which weigh up to 80 pounds, on to and off of trailers.
  • CDL – class C with passenger endorsement, or the willingness to obtain a CDL. We will train you!
