Rancocas Creek from Lumberton Landing
Paddle the South Branch of the Rancocas with Pinelands Adventures!
You’ll launch on the South Branch of the Rancocas Creek and paddle upstream towards the former site of Ironwood Camp or downstream towards Rancocas State Park. The creek here is relatively wide and tidal but narrows as you paddle upstream towards Ironwood. This area is excellent for fishing! Pickerel, Largemouth Bass, Catfish and Bluegill are plentiful. Bird-life is abundant! Blue Herons, Barred Owls, Kingfishers and Red-Tailed Hawks are regularly spotted along with a variety of song birds.
This trip differs from our others because you will be paddling against the current for part of the voyage. You can paddle upstream or downstream as far as you’re comfortable before turning back to the landing. Average time spent is between 2 to 4 hours.
