Adventures without Barriers: Lake Shenandoah
Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and smells of the forest on this easy-going walk at Lake Shenandoah in Lakewood, NJ.

Join PPA staff on this exploration of the Pinelands on a 1-mile walk offering views of a beautiful Pine Barrens Lake and access to many native plants. You’ll be invited to unplug, slow down, breathe, and remember your connection to the natural world. This inclusive and accessible family-friendly outing follows along wide, stable, and level trail systems. Learn about the area’s important natural resources and ecology and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature.
Accessibility Information:
The trail is a 1-mile loop route. The path follows flat, even terrain. There are no slopes encountered on this trip. The trail is a minimum of 8 feet wide. The general trail surfaces are compacted soils, and boardwalks which will allow for rugged terrain wheelchair access. The trip will take about two hours. There are benches along the pathway. Additionally, there are compliant ADA parking spaces in the parking area. There are public bathrooms on-site. 
Pinelands Adventures has several all-terrain wheelchairs available for use by request, both electric and manual types. Note: Participants that are not requesting to use Pineland Adventures wheelchairs should come prepared with their own mobility assistive devices. Bring walkers, canes, crutches, and personal outdoor assistive gear. The trails are conducive to allowing electric assistive mobility equipment.
